We apply Newton iteration to calculate the Inverse Normal and Inverse t-Distribution functions. Newton iteration is ideal for this problem given the analytical form of the derivative and the shape of the Normal and Student t-Distribution cumulative distribution functions. The algorithm typically converges in just 4-7 steps to precision of one part in 10 million.
